Studio portrait of 5871 Sapper (Spr) John Patrick Delahunty, 2nd Tunnelling Company, of Essendon, Vic. A blacksmith prior to enlisting on 7 June 1916, he embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ulysses on 25 October 1916. Spr Delahunty initially attached to the 7th Reinforcements, 20th Battalion at Seymour Camp and was later transferred to a Light Horse Regiment. He returned to Australia on 2 January 1919.
