Studio portrait of 12775 Private John Walsh, Stretcher Bearer, 11th Field Ambulance. A postal assistant of Wallaroo, SA, he embarked with the unit from Adelaide in May 1916. At the end of the war he attended officer training and was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant with the 44th Battalion, a brief appointment which was terminated on his return to Australia in 1919 when he was discharged.
