Studio portrait of 2745 Private Arthur Noel Russell Blayney, 58th Battalion of Warrnambool, Victoria. A bank clerk prior to enlistment, he embarked from Melbourne on HMAT Nestor (A71) on 2 October 1916. He was killed in action at Polygon Wood, Belgium on 26 September 1917, aged 19. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
