Informal portrait of 403366 Sergeant John Dudley Newick, RAAF, a carpenter from Sydney, NSW. Sgt Newick was one of the Australians serving with RAF 213 Squadron, flying Hurricane fighter aircraft in the Middle East. He was lost on operations over Egypt on 27 July, 1942, and is buried in the Military Cemetery at El Alamein.
