Grave of Lieutenant Colonel (Lt Col) Harold McIntosh, 12th Australian Light Horse Regiment. Lt Col McIntosh received a gunshot wound to his thigh while leading the advance of his two squadrons at Gaza on 19 April 1917. Five days later he died of his wounds. His body was interred at El Arish Military Cemetery. H S Gullett in the Official History of Australia in the War of 1914-18, Volume VII refers to Lt Col McIntosh as "a daring leader, much loved by his men".
