Description
The release of a bundle of N3 from a window launching machine Mk 1a. The bundle is breaking up, as indicated by the wrapping paper to the left. On the right are three ropes of a bundle of CHRI, just starting to open and unroll. One of the parachutes has broken away from a rope, which is still unrolling. Note the ship in the bottom left corner. The machine was constructed by staff of 199 Squadron, RAF, and was used operationally from 1945 in radar countermeasures. The machine was designed by 424778 Flight Lieutenant Charles Joseph Merryfull, RAAF.
