Description
Cylindrical white canvas kit bag used to store a British Army folding camp bed. The bag has a drawstring opening with nine brass eyelets and an internal flap used to secure the contents when the bag is drawn shut. Stamped under the flap is '21' and 'C.L. (broad arrow) 94 12-41'. Painted on the bag is 'PTE. COURE.G.A. N/s8127. R.E.M.E.', and marked in pen is 'N.S. 8127 G. COURE'.
History / Summary
This bag was used to house the folding camp bed used in Egypt by N/S 8127 Private George Alfred Coure. He served in the British Army with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and soon after the end of the war migrated to Australia with his wife.
