History / Summary
Known as 'Plugstreet' to the Australians, Ploegsteert and the nearby wood were marched through by the 3rd Australian Division on their way to the first Battle of Messines. This sign was taken from the Armentieres-Bailleul Road, behind the lines on the Messines Front.
