Horn used by Germans to summons stretcher-bearers found at Corbie, France
Description
The horn has been made from an animal horn and a separate piece of bone or horn has been crafted for the mouthpiece. A lanyard or sling was presumably once attached to the horn via two holes drilled in one side.
History / Summary
The horn was used by Germans to summons their stretcher-bearers. A patrol from 13 Battalion AIF took it from a German post east of Corbie on 4 August 1918.
