Description

A crew member of an Iroquois helicopter with call sign 376 from No. 9 Squadron RAAF leans out the door and peers beneath the aircraft where an engineer from 1 Field Squadron RAE has unhooked a large underslung cargo net in which the chopper has just delivered 44-gallon drums of fuel to Night Defensive Position (NDP) Beverley, about 30 kilometres east of the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF) at Nui Dat. The fuel is to be used by Field Squadron engineers to set fire to enemy rice padis and vegetable gardens as part of Operation Massey Harris, a food-denial operation.
