Studio portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) Harold Ernest Harris, MC, MID, French Croix de Guerre, 2nd Division Engineers. Lt Harris enlisted at Mosman NSW and embarked from Sydney New South Wales on board HMAT A71 Nestor on 9 April 1916. Lt Harris was awarded the MC for service in the field near Flers, France, on 19 November 1916 and a Mention in Despatches (MID) and French Croix de Guerre at the end of the war for unspecified services. He returned to Australia on March 1919.
