Silver cuff links and tie pin : S F Cave
Description
Pair of sterling silver cuff links, each with an engraved shield hanging from a short chain attached to a bar. The shields are engraved with a decorative pattern. The back of the shields are impressed 'STG SILVER'. The white metal tie pin is 4.4 cm long with a copper pin. Impressed on the reverse is 'TION PAT 2513'.
History / Summary
Silver cufflinks and tie pin associated with Sidney Frederick Cave. They were worn by Cave in the 1930s when he was a champion ballroom dancer. Born on 10 December 1912 in Northampton, England, Cave enlisted into the RAAF on 11 October 1941 and served as Flight Lieutenant with 194 Squadron RAF, based in India and Burma . He was discharged on 3 June 1946.
