Collection relating to the Second World War service of VX38803 Acting Sergeant Richard John Bennison, 1 Company Australian Army Service Corps, Borneo, 1945.
Collection consists of one commemorative card relating to the death of Acting Sergeant Bennison, from his wife, Margaret Bennison, dated December 1945.
Bennison was from Bethanga, Victoria. He served with the Australian Army Service Corps, but was captured as a prisoner of war of the Japanese in February 1942. On 14 March 1945, Bennison died of Malaria while imprisoned at Sandakan Camp, Borneo. [Date of death is incorrect on card].
