Description
Depicts a makeshift camp cooker and heater made from Klim (powdered milk) cans. It worked by lighting a fire and turning a fan in the bottom section while placing the food needing to be heated in the upper section. The camp, Oflag 7B, was located in Bavaria in southern Germany, just north of Munich and south of Nuremberg. Inmates were made up of officers from the Allied nations and conditions in the camp were relatively comfortable. The camp POWs were allowed to receive Red Cross packages, in which Klim milk was included.
