Studio portrait of 2497 Private Horace Reginald Busby, 19th Battalion, of Wollestonecraft, NSW. Son of David James and Annie Elizabeth Busby. An electrician prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Themistocles (A32) on 5 October 1915. He was killed in action on 29 July 1916 at Pozieres, France, aged 29. He was buried where he fell. Post war his grave was not found. He is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
