Studio portrait of 555 Pte Thomas Alfred Critcher, 9th Battalion, of Belambi, NSW. Son of George E and Lillian Critcher. A miner prior to enlisting, he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Omrah (A5) on 24 September 1914. He was killed in action at the landing at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli, Turkey, on 25 April 1915, aged 22. He is buried in the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey.
