Seekamp talks about being a reinforcement officer from 2/10th to the 39th in June 1942; his reasons for joining the AIF; experiences in Tobruk; training of the 39th; impressions of Sam Templeton; the allocation of officers to the 30th Brigade; looting in Port Moresby; the trek with B Company to Kokoda; B Company at Awala; the withdrawal from Kokoda; comments on the Official History of Isurava;; the battle for Isurava; French taking over B Company; going back to Port Moresby; more on Tobruk and some general points. Peter Brune concludes reading a letter from Lt Seekamp as a postcript to the interview.
