Description

This pennant is an interpretation of the ships badge for HMAS WATSON. Triangular blue felt pennant with two suspension loops at hoist. Screen printed in white, yellow, red and light blue, the ships badge shows the globe with the Mercator pattern. The pattern is divided vertically with half light blue and white with reverse colour grid on opposing sides, superimposed centrally is a bat with the left wing white and the right black, surmounting the bat is dividers with a lighting bolt coming out of left side. A rope circle encompasses this surmounted by the King's crown and 'WATSON'. Underneath is scroll work and the motto 'Semper Viormus' and 'HMAS WATSON' to the right of the badge.

History / Summary

This pennant is a souvenir of HMAS Watson. HMAS Watson is an onshore establishment at Sydney's South Head, and was commissioned as the Royal Australian Navy's Radar Training School on 14 March 1945.
