Souvenir pennant : HMAS Cerberus
Description
Triangular blue felt pennant with a light blue hoist. Screen printed in yellow and azure the ships badge has a Cerburus surmounting a wreath enclosed in a rope circle surmounted by a naval crown with scroll work and the three headed dog, Cerberus. Underneath is a boomerang and two crossed clubs. To the right of the badge screen printed in yellow is HMAS Cerberus.
History / Summary
HMAS Cerberus is a shore establishment. It was purchased in 1911 and was called Flinders Naval Depot, it was commissioned as HMAS Cerberus in 1921. The primary role of HMAS Cerberus has always been Navy personnel training, however the last 13 years this has extended to the Air Force and Army and four tri-service schools have been established.
