Not titled [Butterflies]
Description
A card depicting a variety of butterflies, each detailed with their unique patterns and colourings. This work was drawn by soldier artist Lieutenant John Nicholls, NX160003, 2nd Australian Jungle Trunk-Line Maintenance Section, during his service on the Kokoda Trail. Nicholls sent the card home to his wife Phyllis, with a letter enclosed titled ' To Phyllis - from my palette N.G. '
