Studio portrait of 3711 Trooper (Tpr) Lyle Jocelyn Chase of Walgett, NSW. A station manager prior to enlisting in July 1917, Tpr Chase embarked for the Middle East with the 34th Reinforcements of the 6th Light Horse Regiment in March 1918. He died from pneumonia the day the Armistice was signed on 11 November 1918, age 40, and is buried at Ramleh War Cemetery.
