Description
Looking up the hill toward the top of the ridge of the company base at Gumbang occupied by A Company, 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) between April and September 1966. Additional construction is underway with dugouts being dug into the side of the hill and work of stairways also being undertaken. This was the most southerly of the 4RAR company positions and was located on a ridge line close to the Sarawak-Kalimantan border and a major Indonesian infiltration route.
