Two unidentified soldiers on patrol move along the side of a creek in heavy grass and jungle typical of the condition endured by soldiers of A Company, 4th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (4RAR) during their tour in Borneo between April and September 1966. During this time A Company 4RAR were based at Gumbang he most southerly of the 4RAR company positions and was located on a ridge line close to the Sarawak-Kalimantan border and a major Indonesian infiltration route.
