Description

Looking down through the barbed wire from the top of Courtenay Hill at three Australian MkV/1 Centurion tanks, one of which, Five Alpha, (5A), has been fitted with a dozer blade. The tanks are part of 5 Troop, C Squadron, 1 Armoured Regiment. There is also a Centurion Armoured Recovery Vehicle (extreme right) and an M113A1 Fitters Carrier (top left). Some of the Australian crew members are gathered around or sitting on MOGAS rubber fuel bladders (bottom right). Other personnel are working on their respective vehicles. The two most prominent tanks have hoochie shelters erected over the turrets, providing some shaded shelter for the crew. Other hoochies have been erected along the side of the tanks.
