Description
Mimeograph master map, hand drawn on waxy paper, used to produce duplicate maps which were given to prisoners planning an escape from Colditz (Oflag IVC) concentration camp. Scale 1:2 000 000. Covers the area southwest of Berlin as far as Frankfurt and Karlsruhe, and includes Leipzig, Dresden and Prague. Shows autobahns, main roads, railways, cities and towns, rivers, mines. Includes legend. Map from the Jack Millett Colditz Collection (no. 17). Map-maker Jack Millett was the last Australian survivor of Colditz.
