Studio portrait of NX1864 Sergeant (Sgt) Arthur Roy Blackwell of Manilla, NSW. A wool classer before enlisting in the Second AIF in November 1939, Sgt Blackwell served with the 2/2 Battalion in the Middle East and Pacific campaigns. He was killed in action on the Kokoda Track near Oivi on 5 November 1942, aged 27.
