Description
"James Morrisson Beecroft: Letters, diary entries and transcripts relating to an Australian airman's life : from Australia to Europe 1942 - 1945". Manuscript relating to the service in the 42nd and 49th Battalions. 418787 Flight Sergeant James (Jim) Morrisson Beecroft joined the RAAF in 1942 and trained in Australia, the UK and the US as a navigator, bomb aimer and pilot. His plane was shot down in 1944 and he was interned as a prisoner of war at Stalag Luft VII at Bankow. Later interned in Stalag IIIA at Luckenwalde until the end of the war.
