Group portrait of members of an unidentified RAF training squadron in England. Identified back row, third from left is 406217 Leading Aircraftman Keith Eric Humphries, RAAF. A bank clerk in civilian life, he enlisted on 12 September 1940. Later promoted to the rank of Flight Sergeant, Humphries was attached to No. 223 Squadron Detached Flight, RAF. While based with his squadron in Egypt flying bombing operations in support of the advancing 8th Army, Flt Sgt Humphries was killed in action on 10 August 1942, aged 29.
