A German gun crew lying dead around their machine gun position, having been killed during the strenuous fighting on the night counter attack of April 24th, by which the 13th and 15th Australian Brigades brilliantly recaptured Villers Bretonneux and retrieved the loss of ground to the enemy in his attack against the tired British Divisions the same morning.
