Unidentified Australian soldiers, probably of the 5th Field Artillery Brigade, eating a meal amidst barbed wire, rubble and tree stumps. The German strong point at La Boiselle was captured during the Somme offensive of July 1916. The photographer, 7749 Gunner Arthur George Edmondson, captioned this photograph (a rare example of a photograph by a soldier photographer in an active service area on the Western Front), 'Feed time'.
