Description

Collection relating to the Second World War service of 40880 Warrant Officer Hugh Ernest Marshall, Numbers 20 and 42 Squadrons (RAAF), Australia, New Guinea, Malaya, and Borneo, 1943-1946.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Collection consists of one blue-felt covered RAAF "Observer's, Air Gunner's and W/T Operator's Flying Log Book" with Marshall's name written on the cover and again on the bottom edge. The log book notes Marshall's training on Avro Ansons, then his time spent serving in both Numbers 20 and 42 Squadrons, predominantly flying Catalinas on missions between Australia and New Guinea. Of note are several entries relating to the evacuation of prisoners of war from Kuching.
