Informal portrait of a nurse and four orderlies at Colaba War Hospital. The orderlies are dressed for 'fancy football': one is dressed as a teacher with mortarboard, one as a surgeon with large 'scalpel' in scabbard, and two as pierrots. Members of the Australian Army Nursing Service served at the hospital, which mainly treated patients from the British garrisons in India.
