Studio portrait of 410555 Aircraftman (AC) Cyril James Moore, of Coburg, Vic. AC Moore enlisted in the RAAF in August 1941 and commenced initial training under the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) at Bradfield Park, Sydney, NSW, in January 1942. In June he arrived in Canada for advanced training as a wireless operator and air gunner. Arriving in England in March 1943 he was attached, as a Sergeant (Sgt) to 75 Squadron RAF. Sgt Moore was killed in action on the night of 5 July 1943 while on mine laying operations over the Friesian Islands. He was 25 years of age. Cyril James Moore was the only child of Minnie Louisa and James Frederick Moore.
