Description

Studio portrait of 415518 Flight Sergeant (Flt Sgt) Keeble Charles French, RAAF, No. 207 Squadron RAF, of Northam, WA. He enlisted on 9 November 1941, and trained under the Empire Air Training Scheme (EATS) in Canada and England. At 9.30pm on 27 August 1943, Flt Sgt French and six other crew members of Lancaster LM334, radio call sign EM-U, left RAF Base Langar, Nottinghamshire, as part of a bombing raid headed for Nuremberg, Germany. LM334 crashed near the town of Lohe, Germany, and all on board were killed. Flt Sgt French was 26 years of age.
