Francotte Patent Martini No 4b, lever action, falling block, single shot training rifle made from ordnance steel and wood. The rifle features a full length wood forearm stock that has a front sling swivel attached. The butt stock has a metal butt plate and a sling swivel attached. An after market leather sling is attached to the rifle. The rear sight is a micro adjustable tangent leaf graduated to 500 yards. The front sight is a post. History / Summary

The rifle was used as a training rifle by NX30102 Lieutenant George Geoffrey Robinson who served with the Royal Australian Engineers during the Second World War. The Francotte Patent Martini No 4b Training Rilfe was one of the most common training rifles supplied to cadet forces by the Commonwealth of Australia.
