Studio portrait of 169 Private William Arthur Head, 4th Battalion of North Parramatta, NSW. A hospital attendant prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard the HMAT Euripides (A14) on 20 October 1914. He was killed in action on the Gallipoli Peninsula, Turkey on 3 May 1915, aged 25. Post war his body was not recovered. He is remembered with honour on the Lone Pine Memorial, Turkey.
