Studio portrait of 1705 Private (later Corporal) Albert Edward Fitch, 20th Battalion of Granville, NSW. A brickmaker prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Kanowa (A61) on 19 June 1915. He was killed in action on 8 October 1917 during the battle at Broodseinde, Belgium, aged 26. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
