Studio portrait of 1360 Trooper (later Private) Frederick McDonald, 2nd Australian Remount Unit of Bankstown, NSW. A carter prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Orsova (A67) on 10 November 1915. He disappeared from the transport "Port Sydney" en route to Australia from Egypt and is presumed to drowned at sea on 6 July 1916, aged 47. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Chatby Memorial, Egypt.
