Studio portrait of 6776 Private Harold Edward Lassau, 2nd Battalion of Lidcombe, NSW. A musician prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard SS Port Nicholson on 8 November 1916. He was killed in action, on 23 August 1918, near Proyart, France, aged 22. He is buried in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France. Pte Harold Lassau is the brother of 5818 Pte Randolf Lassau (P08624.358), killed in action on 3 May 1917.
