Studio portrait of 5411 Private Ernest Robert Morris, 13th (later 45th) Battalion of Lidcombe, NSW. A drover prior to enlisting, he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Nestor (A71) on 9 April 1916. He was killed in action in the trenches at Pozieres, France, on 6 August 1916, aged 26. He has no known grave and is remembered with honour on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
