Description

A home movie relating to the service of A316772 LAC Stuart Ritchie and his experiences in 2 Squadron (Sqn), Phan Rang Republic of Vietnam from 22 May 1969 until 23 April 1970. Footage includes preparing to bomb the Viet Cong; Pre-flight inspection; Pilot putting on survival vest which contains gun radio rations; US Martin B-57 Canberra also based a Phan Rang; Canberra’s started with a Cordite charge; a Chinook cargo helicopter dropping in; the view the Navigator saw when getting ready to drop bombs; undertaking a mission down in the Delta towards Cambodian border; the standard uniform for the Ground Crew, which was shorts, socks and t-boots; Korean artillery unit station; Republic of Korea bunker; A load of 750lb bombs. 2 Sqn RAAF Hanger. Wallaby Airlines Caribou bringing in supplies; birds eye view of Vietnam; trip to a beach, 2 Sqn sailing boat (they also owned a ski boat); live performance.
