Small rectangular printing block for 1915 Gallipoli Christmas greeting card which reads in mirror reverse 'A MERRY XMAS 1915 AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM GALLOPLI [sic]'
History / Summary
While Australian and New Zealand troops were evacuated in December 1915, many cards, gifts and souvenirs were made weeks or even months in advance in preparation for Christmas and the New Year as there could be a considerbale delay in items reaching their intended recipients. The history of this printing block is unknown.
