Description
Cast and crew at work on the deck of HMS Andrew during filming of the Stanley Kramer motion picture 'On The Beach' at Williamstown Naval Dockyard. The RAN gave considerable support to this project. The aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne and the submarine HMS Andrew were used in the film, and several scenes were shot at Williamstown over a four day period, with RAN personnel being used as extras.
