'Behind Barb Wire and Other Stories', compiled by Kaye Mitchell, is a transcription of the diary composed by VX34578 Lieutenant Charles William Buerckner who served during the Second World War and became a Prisoner of War. Also includes notes, images, as well as information on the wartime service of Edward and Walter Buerckner, younger brothers of Charles, and a transcript of an interview with Charles' wife Daisy.
