Studio portrait of 1993 Pte (later Cpl) Harry Collings, 2nd (later 11th Field Artillery Brigade) Light Horse Regiment, of Brisbane, Qld. Son of Robert and Annie Collings, husband of Edith Sarah Collings of Clunes, NSW. A dairy farmer prior to enlisting, he embarked from Brisbane aboard HMAT Wandilla (A62) on 31 January 1915. He was wounded in action, on 15 January 1917, in France, and died of his wounds on 16 January 1917 at the 12th Australian Field Ambulance Advanced Dressing Station, France, aged 25. He is buried in the Bernafay Wood British Cemetery, Montauban, France.
