Description
Collection relating to the First World War service of 378 Sergeant Charles Douglas Garden, 8th and 3rd Light Horse Regiments. Collections consists and three original handwritten diaries covering 1915 and 1918; plus a typed transcript the two 1915 diaries. Also included is a soldier's pay book and related correspondence; a letter from the King (and envelope); a statement of account; a 1915 letter to his mother; a single page diary entry from 1915; and assorted scraps of paper that appear to have been letter.
