The jacket has four expanding pleated pockets, each having flaps with a concealed two-button closure. The upper (breast) pockets are angled diagonally. The left breast pocket flap has a gap left in its top seam with a small internal pocket probably designed to hold pens. The original manufacturer's labels and care instructions have been removed.

History / Summary

Worn by Raeburn Lyall Trindall, a cinematographer with the Commonwealth Film Unit, during his service in Vietnam. The uniform was issued to him by the RAAF quartermaster's store at Vung Tau when he arrived in country.

Three members of the Unit, Malcolm Smith, director, Raeburn Trindall, cinematographer and photographer, and Howard Spry, sound recordist, visited Vietnam in October 1968 to shoot footage to be used in productions for the RAAF Golden Years 50th anniversary celebrations.
