The crew of Australian Army CH-47D Chinook A15-202 conduct a pre-flight briefing prior to combat training in the Registan desert south of Kandahar. Corporal (Cpl) Matthew (Matt) Dobson, C Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment (5 AVN) later recalled "This briefing covers such things as: areas of operations, sequences to be practised, threat level and intelligence, actions on contact and crew responsibilities. [Identified from left to right]:Captain (Capt) James (Jim) Crowe, Cpl Matthew Wilson and WO2 Ian Griffiths - all Afghanistan veterans, impart their knowledge and wisdom to the 'newbies' Capt Andrew McConville and Cpl Matt Dobson".
