Description
Actors Willliam Holden (centre) and Tetsuro Tamba (behind Holden) on the set of the film 'Seventh Dawn'. The film focuses on the Malayan resistance against the Japanese at the end of the Second World War and the Malayan Emergency. Around 80 Australian soldiers, members of the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), played the roles of British soldiers for three major scenes: the surrender of the Japanese at the end of the Second World War, the departure of a Malayan resistance leader from Kuala Lumpur railway station, and the destruction of a village used by a Communist Terrorist (CT) during the Malayan Emergency.
