Description

Manuscript, titled 'Brigadier Victor Carlton Griffin 1898-1973', Enlisted March 1915, aged 16, 3rd Battalion, AIF. Served at Gallipoli. Extracts from the family history by his daughter, Julie Ann Ross nee June Ann Griffin'. Details the Army career of Victor Carlton Griffin, an Australian who served in the First World War at Gallipoli and the Western Front. After the war he enlisted in the Indian Army and commanded the 11 Indian Brigade, Fourth Indian Division. He reached the rank of Brigadier and after the war was given command of 5 Mahratta Light Infantry Regimental Centre in Belgaum, India. Includes a paper and digital copy.
